My name is Leshaun Joseph, a 19 year old, former student of the Entrepot Secondary School as well as the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. Presently, I am employed as an Entertainment Coordinator at Sandals Halcyon. I found interest in dance when I started dancing as a folk dancer at a young age with the Helen Folk Dancers. I later fell in love with hip-hop dance, street dance and contemporary hip-hop. As I grew older, I realized that I really had a passion for dance, and that I needed to be more serious and realized, this art form is more than just a hobby and so I took the bold step and started dancing professionally as a member of the Silver Shadow Performing Arts Academy in 2012 as soon as I entered secondary school. As an active member for 8 years I have participated in stage performances both nationally, locally and regionally. Among them are, seven (7) dance recitals, three (3) Major productions namely La Luna 2017, Movements 2018 and the St Lucia Story 2019. I have done one regional tour which was the KCCU annual dance competition held in St Vincent & the Grenadines in 2018. Locally, I have performed at Hotels, National Carnival Events, Soca Monarch Competitions, Groovy Monarch Competitions, Calypso Monarch Competitions, U4RIA, and also featured in a number of Music videos, including two film documentary’s “Break up with Plastics” which has won a silver Telly award in the category “Green/Eco-Friendly for Online” and Featured as a Masquerade dancer in the Netflix’s series Restaurants on the Edge. I also have an interest in Carnival as a costume builder and decorator, Reveler and the Carrier of the King of the Band costumes in which I won the 1st place Jr. king title in 2018. As a young accomplished dancer, my skills are now transferred to my job as Entertainment Coordinator, which has given me the opportunity to explore my other talents such as being a master of ceremony and doing Voice Over’s at staff Prestige Awards. As a dancer and entertainer I will continue to work on all my skill sets in order to further develop in the things I love doing and to become one of the best in Saint Lucia.
